South London Makers
As South London’s heritage for unique and design-led projects continues, South London Makers are making their own mark on the local creative community and beyond.
Led by furniture designer David Marsden, and supported by a trusted roster of talented illustrators, carpenters, and freelance designers, SLM have quickly gathered the support of local clients with their innovative and meticulously executed projects.
SLM specialises in the design and installation of exhibition stands, shop fronts and interiors, bars, cafes and restaurants - managing and overseeing commissions from conception to completion.
David Marsden has over ten years’ experience of designing and making, first working on the construction of log cabins for the family business in his late teens. While studying at the National School of Furniture, David worked on outside projects, such as assisting on the interior for Opening Ceremony’s flagship store in London. He quickly went on to freelance as David Marsden Design, specialising in furniture, exhibitions and installations. With a desire to explore the possibilities of creative collaboration, SLM was born.
Using their combined technical and art direction skills, South London Makers blend functionality with a powerful aesthetic that pays attention to experiential and interactive elements of design. With some exciting new clients and projects in the pipeline, South London Makers are proving to be a strong new presence in the world of design.
